Wales v Armenia
Since gaining independence from the USSR in 1991, Armenia have never qualified for either the FIFA World Cup or the UEFA European Championships however Armenian player, Eduard Markarov was a member of the USSR squad at the 1966 FIFA World Cup whilst Khoren Hovhannisyan, was a member of the USSR squad at the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
The Republic of Armenia was formed in 1991 following the break up of the USSR, with the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) becoming members of UEFA and FIFA in 1992.
Armenia's first official international game was a 0-0 draw in a friendly match at home to Moldova in October 1996 and the country made its competitive during the 1996 UEFA European Championship qualifying campaign.
Wales' first meeting with Andorra was during the 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. The home game in the same campaign was Wales' 500th international match.
